Curtis L. Spears

CEO - Andes Capital (Broker Dealer)

Curtis Spears is the President & CEO of Andes Capital Group. In this role, Mr. Spears is responsible for overall firm strategy and day-to-day operations. Mr. Spears brings over 25 years of experience in the asset management arena. Prior to joining Andes, Mr. Spears held several senior leadership roles, including Senior Managing Director with Gray & Company, President of Gardner Rich, and Managing Director of Public Fund Sales with Fifth Third Asset Management. He also served as Vice President at The Northern Trust Company where he was responsible for client service and marketing investment products and services to the institutional marketplace. Before taking on client responsibilities, Mr. Spears managed domestic and international equity index portfolios for Northern Trust. Throughout his career, Mr. Spears’ level of excellence has enabled him to build strong relationships with top-tier financial firms and institutional investors.

A native of Chicago, he also sees it as his duty to give back to the community. He currently serves on the Governing Board for UCAN and has served on auxiliary boards for the Steppenwolf Theater, the Field Museum and the Primo Center for Women and Children where he has raised funds crucial to operations, and helped to increase awareness. Mr. Spears received his B.S. in computer science from Northwestern University and an M.B.A. from DePaul University. He holds the Series 24, 7, 63, 65 and 79 securities licenses.

Brandon Lowery


Brandon has led capital raises for private initiatives totalling over $100million; created exits via the likes of Microsoft X-Box and private equity groups; and has also licensed commercial properties (ie content and platforms) to organizations such as Fox News Corp, ESPN, RedBull, National Geographic, Think Education and many others.

Brandon has been recruited to consult with Start-ups/Scale-ups, Corporations, Governments, NFPs as well as legacy institutions like: The International Olympic Committee (IOC), International Management Group (IMG), The International Skateboarding Federation, The World Surf League (WSL) and Laureate International Universities to name a few.

Nigel Abbott


Nigel has been involved in startup and early-stage companies for most of his career and understands first-hand the frustration companies experience with accessing capital and the burden it places on growth. He brings a breadth and depth of experience in marketing, media, technology and product/service development across numerous industries in Australia, USA and Japan.

He has had some successful exits, the most recent was a video media channel for small to medium businesses, with a simple mandate to build a global library of educational content that empowers companies.

Nikolas Ahkin


Nikolas brings his 15+ years experience in helping companies through their challenges and turning their businesses into assets. Having run his own successful accounting and advisory practice for 7 years he understands first hand the frustration businesses experience with cash flow and access to finance to grow their business.
He brings his experiences as a Chartered Accountant into FUNDSITION with knowledge and experience with corporate structuring, cash flow and funding, financial modelling, valuation and advising clients on the buy side and sell side of the transaction.
